24th Annual Run with the Big Dogs
Time & Location
About the Event
To keep all volunteers and participants safe and healthy, we will be requiring masks and social distancing. In addition, we will be using a "trickle start" strategy to encourage distancing: participants can begin the race anytime between 9:00 and 10:00 am, completing either the 2k walk, 2k run, or 5k walk depending on their preference, and all racers must have completed the race by 12:00pm. Doggy bags will be available at the start or finish of the race (depending on preference), and door prizes will be able to be picked up at the end of the race.
If you are registering before April 19, make sure you use coupon code "RWTBD" at checkout to receive your pre-registrant discount.
Run with the Big Dogs (RWTBD) was started in 1997 as a way to raise funds to help the Pocatello Animal Shelter get a much needed new building. In February 2015, with the help of the citizens of Pocatello, that goal was met. However, all involved in RWTBD had so much fun that we decided to continue to hold the event annually. All funds raised by the event are used to benefit animals that are temporarily housed at the Pocatello Animal Shelter through programs such as the Second Chance Fund, Pocatello Pets 4 Vets, and Katie's Old Friends. Run with the Big Dogs is a 2k walk/run or 5k walk. Registrants may walk/run with or without a dog or in memory of a beloved pet. Pre-registrants receive a t-shirt and a "doggy bag" full of freebies. Dogs who participate receive a bandanna (while supplies last). All registrants are also entered into a prize drawing (registrants must be present to win)!
